Vision of the Department

To Produce best quality of Civil Engineering professionals by imparting hands on experience and value based education to meet the aspirations of Construction Industry and make the world a better place to live in from the aspirational Districts of Odisha.

Mission of the Department

To Prepare the students of Civil Engineering with strong fundamental concepts, analytical capability and problem solving skills.

Prepare the students to adapt to the challenges in the construction industry

To Instill professionalism and strong ethical values and to be leaders driving innovation in Civil engineering.

Program Educational Objectives Statements

PEO1: To provide essential knowledge of science and civil engineering concepts with practical skills as per curriculum and to meet the global challenges in the field of civil engineering.

PEO2: To Produce civil engineers with leadership capability and ability to apply the knowledge, Practical skill with knowledge on latest software, machineries and supervisory skills to develop solutions in challenging construction industry.

PEO3: To Inculcate professionalism among students with ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team work mindset and develop critical thinking through effective teaching learning and hands on training to develop entrepreneurial attitude and Motivating to develop an ability to pursue higher studies.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO’s)

PSO1: Students will gain sound knowledge in analysis, design, laboratory investigations with strong fundamental concepts of Civil Engineering and will be able to apply technical skills with good communication skill in the field of civil engineering in day today practice

PSO2: Students will be able to participate in critical thinking and problem solving of civil engineering field that requires analytical and design requirements and shall demonstrate ability to function within multidisciplinary teams with competence in modern tool usage

PSO3:
Students will be able to pursue of lifelong learning and professional development to face the challenges in the field of Civil Engineering and emerging needs of our society.

Program Outcomes (PO’s)

PO1: Basic and Discipline specific knowledge- Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis- Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods
PO3: Design/development of solutions- Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4: Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing- Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements

PO5: Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment- Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6: Project Management- Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects
and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities

PO7: Life-long learning- Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes
